*************NEWS FLASH*** insider info.
The new just released 600 Ski Doo motor at a well respected un-biased independant Dyno on Monday (yesterday) pulls a 129; 133 and a 134 hp after tweeking .The 210 MJ worked the best. The new Polaris longer stroke 600 racer motor (with 40mm carbs vs. ski doo,s 38s) is expected to be all of that and maybe as high as 139 @8300-8400 RPM.

My understanding is Doo didn't release their new 600 but went with last year's consumer version with a hot ignition. Reliability issues are the reason for the hold back of the new motor. Poo motor is 128 out of box and 132 tweeked.

210 main jets? That is TINY, how can they be running that small of a main jet? Doo uses Mikuni flatslides, correct?

I believe they have a power jet carb set up again on the race sled this year.

Theese numbers are stock out of the box but I guess no Open-Team rides non-ported. The -06 IQ factory racer was about 130-135 ponies out of the box with the stock twin pipes on a dyno here in Sweden. That engine delivered 150-155 with a single pipe ported for snocross. With such a power gain potential no Open-team will leave the engine stock.....

Apples to apples a tuned F-7 motor makes 150+. Hopefully this new Polaris motor rips out the HP.
Didn't HTG make 150 at dynotech with a ported and single piped IQ 600 CFI? Amazing what's possible out of these 600 motors.

Pro 116 is correct; the Power jet is around a 200 mj and supplys the mid and top end extra fuel and the low is nicely crisp with the 210s.
Action you may have gotten some misinformation; the doo motor is all new and is hot off the production line. And the new Polaris motor is due out any time and will not be the H.O. motor at the 128 levels; it should have similar power to the new doo and maybe a bit more but we should all be happy that the tech. of a 600cc powerplant is real close to F7 cat numbers and that is nice. You must realize the R&D involved to get 3.7 HP/ Cubic Inch out of these motors, the 440 race motors from last year are still the point @ 3.9 hp/c.i.
Try that formula with your 1300 cubic inch harley motor and youll realize it sounds cool but is really a dog performance wise; better yet take 3.67 x 358ci (your nascar motors @835hp)[/b]
Sorry Bud, it may be you that has the misinformation.
The Doo 600 RS Stocker presented at race school and to their Racers is their standard 600HO with a refined ignition and EPJ carbs, because of motor reliability issues the XP will get it's new motor next year.
Poo on the otherhand has already delivered their '08 IQ Racer with it's all new motor. Many teams have had them for almost 2 weeks.
The big difference between the Poo and Doo Racers right now is.....Polaris racers have had their sleds for weeks. The Doo racers including the very top teams, BMRT & Warnert, are still waiting for their Stock Sleds to arrive. The Doo's deliveries are being held up because of continued EPA issues.
No "as delivered" Doo stocker has seen the DYNO and that is a fact.

The XP will be delivered with last year's mill with ignition tweaks. The new Rotax motor isn't ready for racer consumption in the stocker yet. Some said it's dependability. I heard they couldn't find the hp. I'm also aware of the changes Polaris made to the new 600. Reliable, non-inflated hp has shown 128hp out of the box with a very thick powerband. About 4-5hp more with jetting. This talk about 139hp stock 600's running on pump gas is a joke.

You are absolutely correct Joe.
The Poo stockers will show low 130's with race fuel and some timing cranked in.
The Doo faithful have said reliability was the reason for their new motor delay but I think you are closer to the truth. They readily admit their '08 mill is 5-6HP less than Poo's.
Why are we talking about the XP RS on the Fusion Forum. If anything this should have been posted over on the Poo 440/Racing forum??

I think the new Doo 600RS race motor has different cylinders/porting, head, V-Force, Power Jet carbs and a new pipe and probably some other small tweaks. I think it's a little more than a stock motor with a reprogrammed CDI. I think it was dynoed at Dynotech on Monday. Jim e-mailed me and said he was hoping to get premission from owners to post dyno results after he dynos all three if the owners give him permission.
AK, you guys get your 600R's in yet?

I agree! Everyone thinks this is a new "wonder engine". It doesn't really make anymore horsepower than the normal 600 HO, it just has a little bit wider power-band and some more torque. It should help with sno-cross racing.

AK pilot I cant get in a pissn match about info with you ; But I KNOW that this is the new Doo 600 race sled that you say know one has yet and delivery was taken Fri. nov.2nd and was on the dyno Mon. Nov. 5th and the motor is there latest greatest maybe I should have worded that differently . It is not all last years parts as a whole; does it have the planned on powerplant ; Ill refrain. And without sounding like a know it all The info I have from horses mouths upnort should suprise many : I currenly am unaware of anyone that has taken delivery of the product from Roseau, maybe some have them, I am just waiting for the motor, and I cant get it yet. Just thought some would like to know the latest news; but I cant be involved any further , you'all will have to argue amongst yourselves. I like all the new powerplants and the new stroke liberty converts BTUs to torsional energy quite nicely! Its good to see the HP battle is alive and well .
